ELENA.
I am the founder and CEO of the Hud Food Truck & third generation Owner and CEO of Hudson’s Hickory House BBQ. I was born in Volgograd, Russia & raised right here in Douglasville, GA.
I am humbled to have been recognized as one of the Top 10 Young Professionals and as well as the Community Spirit Award recipient. I am a Board Member of the Douglas County Chamber board of directors and chairwoman of the Douglasville downtown development authority. This community is so near and dear to my heart, and it is an honor to serve here!
Growing up all my life in the family business, my passion for food and hospitality is unmatched. After graduating college, I decided to pave my own path. Thus The HUD food truck was born! At The HUD, our mission is to continue our family's fifty year legacy of serving quality, traditional southern bar-b-que, while adding a creative approach for today's modern dining experience.
We value giving back to our community, embracing diversity, and promoting inclusion. All of our meats are pit-smoked fresh daily at our Brick and Mortar Location, Hudson's Hickory House (12515 Veterans Memorial Highway, Downtown Douglasville). Everything in our fun pink truck is made fresh with love by the Bar-B-Cuties and ready to take on the go at your convenience.
DOING IT FOR DAD.
As much as I preach about us being female owned - my dad deserves just as much of the recognition for The HUD. He was my business partner. He's supported me and believed in me in ways no one else ever could. For those who don't know, my dad and I shared the same nickname in high school - HUD - so naturally, that seemed like the perfect thing to call it.
My dad passed away the same month we launched The Hud. I was fortunate enough to work one gig with him in the truck. I will cherish it forever.
